Cinelooks for still Photographers

A thing that comes up now and then is how we can get this type of grading to still photographers.

Right now from the library we have here’s a workflow that has worked for myself quite a few times in the past.

  • Organize your images in groups
  • Pick the look you want for each group
  • Open each folder in FrameCycler Pro
  • Load the look
  • Click Render

While not as integrated in your image editor the benefit is that you can now use the exact same grading for your stills as you can on your films. This is incredibly useful when you’re doing set photography on a movie or TV set and the PR stills have to match the movie. Since you shoot with different sensors there’ll be some tweaking but you’re already a huge step there.

For wedding photographers we might do a few select sets but we’ll need some input from you guys to shoot less in the dark with that.
